How to reconstitute and inject
Diluent: Use bacteriostatic water only; avoid saline because it may cause precipitation.
- Take the ARA-290 vial out of the refrigerator and leave it for 15–20 minutes to reach room temperature.
- Disinfect the vial stopper with an alcohol swab. Wait until the alcohol has completely air-dried.
- Measure the calculated amount of bacteriostatic water into a sterile syringe. Use only bacteriostatic water; avoid saline because precipitation may occur.
- Add the water slowly along the inner wall of the vial. Keep the stream away from the powder itself.
- Rotate the vial gently to mix its contents. Never shake it vigorously, because this can degrade the peptide.
- Wait 2–3 minutes for the powder to dissolve completely. Check that the liquid is clear and has no color.
- Withdraw the calculated dose into an insulin syringe for administration beneath the skin.
- Inject into your abdomen, thigh or upper arm. Change the injection site each time to help prevent lipodystrophy.
- Refrigerate the mixed solution at 2–8 °C. Use it within 28 days after reconstitution.
What to expect
- Week 1–2
- Small improvements in mood and attention may emerge, with better sleep appearing early.
- Week 2–4
- Possible changes include clearer thinking, easier word retrieval and less brain fog.
- Week 4–8
- Cognitive changes may become more consistent, alongside improved working memory and responses to stress.
- Week 8+
- Cognitive and neurological effects may continue and can potentially last beyond the end of a cycle. These intervals are research expectations, not established individual outcomes.
Side effects and safety
- Headache, especially when beginning use
- Mild restlessness or anxiety with some compounds
- Irritation of the nasal lining after intranasal administration
- Disrupted sleep when dosing near bedtime
- Changes in mood or emotional stability · Rare

Frequently asked questions
What is ARA-290?
ARA-290 is an experimental peptide investigated for nerve-related symptoms and inflammation. It does not stimulate red blood cell production. Its development has reached Phase 2, and it has no FDA approval.
What research applications are being explored for ARA-290?
Cognitive and neurological support remain research interests. Discuss any proposed use with a qualified healthcare professional.
Which doses appear in research discussions?
Starting dose: an unspecified low dose once daily, using an intranasal or injectable route. Standard dose: an unspecified standard amount once daily by either route. Neither schedule supplies a numeric dose. Consult a qualified clinician and current literature for dosing guidance specific to the indication.
What safety concerns need consideration?
The dose, administration route and individual response influence adverse effects. Human studies have not fully characterized compound-specific risks. Headache, restlessness, nasal irritation and sleep changes are potential concerns in cognitive-compound discussions. Ask a qualified healthcare professional about individual risk.
