Selank
TP-7 · Tuftsin Analog TP-7
Inhibition of neprilysin, also known as enkephalinase, prolongs the action of endogenous enkephalins. Selank also affects serotonin, dopamine and GABA signaling, with indirect GABAergic activity. Other proposed effects include normalization of IL-6 and reduced expression of HIF-1α during stress.

What is Selank?
Selank is a synthetic seven-amino-acid peptide developed from tuftsin, the immune-modulating peptide Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg. Developed in Russia, it is approved there for generalized anxiety disorder and immune modulation. Research examines anxiety relief and cognitive effects comparable to benzodiazepines, with no corresponding sedation, memory impairment or dependence potential reported in those comparisons. Administration is intranasal. Russian approval does not confer US approval; the FDA has not approved Selank.
Mechanism of action
Inhibition of neprilysin, also known as enkephalinase, prolongs the action of endogenous enkephalins. Selank also affects serotonin, dopamine and GABA signaling, with indirect GABAergic activity. Other proposed effects include normalization of IL-6 and reduced expression of HIF-1α during stress.
Targets: Enkephalinase (neprilysin) · Serotonergic system · GABA signaling · IL-6 · HIF-1α
Research indications

How to reconstitute and inject
Diluent: Use bacteriostatic water; avoid saline because it may cause precipitation.
- Let your refrigerated Selank vial warm to room temperature for 15–20 minutes before preparation.
- Disinfect the vial’s rubber closure with an alcohol wipe, then wait until it has dried completely.
- Use a sterile syringe to measure the calculated amount of bacteriostatic water. Avoid saline because precipitation may occur.
- Add the water slowly against the vial’s inner wall. Keep the stream away from the dry powder itself.
- Rotate the vial gently to mix its contents. Do not shake forcefully, because this can damage the peptide.
- Wait 2–3 minutes for the powder to dissolve completely. Check that the liquid is transparent and has no color.
- Measure your calculated subcutaneous dose with an insulin syringe after dissolution.
- Choose the abdomen, upper arm or thigh for injection. Alternate the injection location each time to help prevent lipodystrophy.
- Refrigerate the mixed solution at 2–8°C, and discard any remainder after 28 days. Use these steps only for an appropriate research formulation; follow the specific product instructions for prescription presentations.
What to expect
- Week 1–2
- Small changes in concentration and mood may emerge, with improvements in sleep sometimes appearing early.
- Week 2–4
- Anecdotal human reports mention clearer thinking, easier word retrieval and less mental fog during this period.
- Week 4–8
- Possible cognitive changes become more consistent, including working-memory improvements and better responses to stress.
- Week 8+
- Cognitive and neurological benefits may continue and can persist after a cycle ends. These expectations are not established outcomes for every person.
Side effects and safety
- Headaches, especially early in use
- Mild restlessness or anxiety
- Irritation of the nose with intranasal dosing

Frequently asked questions
Which dosing approaches are discussed?
Community protocols use once-daily administration by an intranasal or injectable route. Starting protocols name a low dose without stating an amount; standard protocols also leave the amount unspecified. Neither protocol defines a numeric dose. These qualitative schedules are not established human regimens; consult a qualified clinician about any use.
What should you know about unwanted effects?
Adverse effects can differ according to dose, administration route and individual response. Begin only at the lowest clinician-directed amount and monitor your response carefully. Seek advice before use, and report any unusual symptoms to your healthcare professional. Human safety is not fully characterized for experimental applications.
Which intranasal amounts have been investigated?
An intranasal research schedule uses 250–500 mcg per administration, repeated 2–3 times daily. The approximate active intranasal half-life is three minutes. This schedule is separate from the non-numeric once-daily approaches, and neither establishes individualized prescribing guidance.
